WHY DO WEBSITES COST WHAT THEY COST?

Find out what elements make up a website and how they affect the overall cost.
The approach that we take towards the design of a website is probably the biggest factor in determining a final website cost. There are 2 main paths that we have and both will produce beautiful websites.
Website Template: With this option, we use an off-the-shelf template tailored to your business. The tailoring includes things like your logo, colour scheme and images, but is still somewhat generic, due to being off-the-shelf. This is still a great option and is cheaper than a full bespoke design.
Custom Design: This will be designed in line with your brief, your colour scheme and anything else you communicate as being important to the overall look of your business. We include an initial design consultation, followed by the delivery of a design prototype and then unlimited re-works until the look is exactly what you’re after.
Having a solid Social Media strategy can help drive user engagement and increase the viral potential for your new website. We can put into place many features to help your visitors spread the word.
Social Media Account Design: After having a new website, matching the branding across your social media channels can help keep your brand looking good no matter where your potential clients find you. We can for instance, design a Facebook banner that is inspired by our web design to match your branding.
On-site Social Media Connection: We can implement social sharing and social following throughout your website. Having Facebook Like boxes and pulling in feeds from your Twitter account can help increase your social reach. We can also put in social sharing functionality to make it as easy as possible for your website visitors to share your content with all of the people they are connected with.
We much prefer that our clients provide us with authentic original imagery to use throughout their website. Using your own unique images can help re-enforce your companies commitment to quality. Handling your images in this way will help ensure that your website is unique and stands out among the crowd.
That being said, stock images are used some of the time and in our opinion are much better than having no images at all. Our own website, for instance, uses stock imagery alongside our custom made graphics. We can help wade through the sea of available stock images for you to help find the right images to compliment the copy on your page.
We recommend having at least one image on each interior page as it greatly increases the visual appeal.
You can write your website’s content yourself. But even though it’s your business, it’s often hard to come up with compelling text for 5+ pages of your website. If you want us to help you with that, we have a great copy writer who churns out sales-ready content that will get results. Just like a website design, you get what you pay for when it comes to content creation that will rank your site high in search engines and engage your audience.
This covers everything from a product and inventory management system that will allow you to manage your products from the back-end, put things on sale, create coupons, export sales history and many many more features, through to orders and payment gateway. Put simply, this is everything you need in order to begin selling products online.
We want to help you and your website succeed, and that means creating a line of communication that will deliver results. This price includes initial consultations, phone calls, and any time that it takes to obtain the information we need to get your site going.
While most websites are built on easy-to-use CMS’ nowadays, not everyone knows how to get started with them. This price point includes the time spent training you how to use your new site, as well and ensuring that everything works properly and giving you the chance to make any necessary changes.

WHAT OTHER COSTS MAY I NOT BE THINKING ABOUT?

Find out what other additional costs you should be considering when building a website.
A domain name is an address where you can be found on the internet. It’s how you’ll express yourself through email or your website and it’s what customers think of when trying to find you.
Even if you aren’t ready to build your website now you should be securing a domain name as soon as possible. It is a lot harder than you would think to get the domain name you desire.
Once you have your domain name, you will need web hosting.
Web hosting is the service that makes your website available to be viewed by others on the Internet. A web host provides space on its server where your website files can be uploaded, so that other computers around the world can access your website by means of an internet connection.
An SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate provides security for your website by encrypting communications between the server and the person visiting your website.
If you are going to have an eCommerce enabled website and you want your customers to be checking out directly on your website then you will be needing an SSL certificate. This will make sure that the data being sent from the website will be encrypted making transactions secure.
Your website is your brand, your storefront, and often your first contact with customers. If it’s not safe and secure, those critical business relationships can be compromised.
The threats can come in many forms – infecting your website with malware in order to spread that malware to your site visitors, stealing your customer information, like names and email addresses, stealing credit card and other transaction information, and even hijacking or crashing your site.
That is why investing in a website backup and security plan is the smart choice in keeping your website and business’ reputation safe from online threats.
Managed services can include blog writing, post-launch testing, and content maintenance.
May also include marketing and advertising services including AdWords, Pay Per Click Marketing, Social Media Advertising and more.
